    Pakistani Drug Smuggler 86th execution this year

    Saudi Arabia has decapitated a Pakistani national after sentencing him to death for smuggling drugs, bringing to 86 the number of such executions in the kingdom since the start of this year.

    The convicted Pakistani man, identified as Shah Zaman Khan Sayyed, was beheaded in the Riyadh region, the Saudi Interior Ministry said in a statement on Thursday.

    The man was found guilty of attempting to smuggle heroin and amphetamines into the kingdom, the interior ministry added.

    Saudi Arabia carries out 90th execution of year

    RIYADH // Saudi Arabia beheaded a citizen convicted of murder on Wednesday taking to the number of people executed in the Kingdom this year to 90.

    Mufreh Al Harissi was found guilty of stabbing to death a fellow Saudi during a dispute, the interior ministry said in a statement published by the SPA news agency.

    The sentence was carried out in the south-western Jazan province.

    Saudi executes Jordanian drug smuggler

    Saudi Arabia on Thursday put to death a Jordanian convicted of drug trafficking, in the kingdom's 91st execution this year.

    Maher al-Ghurabli had been found guilty of smuggling amphetamine pills into the kingdom, the interior ministry said in a statement.

    Authorities carried out the sentence against him in the northwestern region of Tabuk, which borders his Jordanian homeland.

    Most people put to death in Saudi Arabia are beheaded with a sword.

    Ghurabli's is the 91st execution of a local or foreigner this year, according to an AFP tally.

    Saudi Arabia beheads 92nd person in 2016

    The Saudi Interior Ministry said in a statement that the man, identified as Mohsen al-Dosari, was beheaded on Tuesday. He had been found guilty of stabbing to death another Saudi man following a dispute.

    The latest beheading brings to 92 the number of the people executed across the kingdom so far in 2016.

    Nigerian Cop Killer 95th execution this year

    Saudi authorities have executed a Nigerian man after convicting him of murdering a police officer.

    It was the 95th execution of the year in the ultra-conservative Muslim kingdom, which imposes the death penalty for offences including murder, drug trafficking, armed robbery, rape and apostasy

    Fahd Houssawi was executed on Sunday in the western city of Taif, the interior ministry said in a statement carried by the official SPA news agency. He had been found guilty of strangling a policeman and beating him to death, the ministry said.

    First execution carried out in Saudi Arabia since Ramazan

    Saudi authorities executed a murderer in the holy city of Mecca on Sunday, the first death sentence to be carried out since before the Islamic fasting month of Ramazan, the official SPA news agency.

    Fahd al-Hasni, a Saudi, was put to death after being convicted of stabbing dead a fellow citizen, the Ministry of Interior Affairs said in a statement. Most people executed in Saudi Arabia are beheaded with a sword. It was the 96th execution of the year in the kingdom, which imposes the death penalty for offences including murder, drug trafficking, armed robbery, rape and apostasy.

    The last execution in the Gulf country took place on May 29, more than a week before Ramazan began. There were no beheadings during the fasting month and the following Eid al-Fitr feast.

    Pakistani convicted of heroin trafficking executed in Saudi Arabia

    Saudi authorities executed two men on Tuesday, bringing to 98 the number of executions carried out in the ultra-conservative Muslim kingdom so far this year.

    Pakistani Mohammed Mokhtar, who was convicted of heroin trafficking, was executed in the eastern city of Dammam, the ministry said.

    Saudi citizen Ali Assiri, who was found guilty of stabbing a fellow tribesman to death, was executed in the southwestern region of Asir, the interior ministry said.

    Hassan bin Mubarak al-Amri was convicted of stabbing to death fellow Saudi Jahran al-Issa following a dispute, the interior ministry said in a statement carried by the SPA state news agency.

    He was executed in the southwestern coastal city of Qunfudah, it said.

    Saudi executions exceed 100 this year

    Saudi authorities on Friday executed a national convicted of murdering a compatriot, in the 101st execution of the year in the ultra-conservative kingdom, the interior ministry said.

    Fahad Abdulhadi al-Dusari was found guilty of shooting dead Mubarak bin Mohammed al-Dusari following a dispute, the ministry said in statement carried by SPA state news agency.

    He was executed in the region of Riyadh, it said.

    On Thursday, authorities carried out the 100th execution in the capital, putting to death a Saudi convicted of shooting dead a compatriot.
