Iran: 9 executed this week

At least four inmates were hanged today, November 29 in Rajaie Shahr Prison of Karaj, west of Tehran. The victims were identified as Hossein Alishir, Hassan Aminzadeh, Majid Feizi, Hesam Taghizadeh. They were found guilty of murder. The four were among the 11 prisoners who had been transferred to solitary confinement in preparation of their executions. There is no information available on the status of the other prisoners.
In yet another case the state-run ROKNA news agency on November 28 reported that a young man was executed in Mashhad Prison. He was found guilty of murder. His full identity has not been released. His accomplice committed suicide inside prison by taking pills. The executed prisoner had served five years in prison.
Another prisoner, identified by his first name as Majid, who has spent years in prison, was hanged in Rajaie Shahr Prison in Karaj. He was tried by Judge Salavati in the 15th Branch of the Revolutionary Court and was hanged, according to the state-run Jam-e-Jam Website on November 28, 2017.
In another development on Sunday, November 26, three prisoners were executed for murder charges in the Central Tabriz Prison. One of the prisoners was identified as 30-year-old Taher Amini, from Maragheh. The identities of the two other prisoners have yet to be determined.
