Conoco store robbery suspect arraigned on capital murder charges, trial date set for June 2018

A suspect in the fatal robbery of a local Conoco gas station in January was arraigned in a Smith County court on Friday.

Dameon Jamarc Mosley, 25, of Tyler faces capital murder charges in the death of Billy Dale Stacks, 62, of Tyler.

Mosley's trial date is set for June 4, 2018.

Billy Dale Stacks, 62, of Tyler, was working at the Conoco gas station at 3319 NNE Loop 323 as a clerk when the store was robbed. Officials said Stacks sustained gunshot wounds to his head and shoulder and later died from his injuries.

Two other suspects, Lamarcus Hannah, 32, and Kedarias Hayes Oliver, 23, both of Tyler, were arrested in connection to the robbery and are at the Smith County Jail on aggravated robbery charges. All three of the suspects were held on $1 million bonds.

Hannah and Oliver await arraignment on the charges.
