I applaud Gov Scott for taking the death penalty more serious than his predecessors. However, he and AG Bondi along with sponsors of the Timely Justice Act were overemphasizing the bill's effectiveness. Like I have posted before, it does not mention clemency proceedings at all which can and has blocked death warrants from being issued.

I would like to see more action taken. Whether it be scott signing warrants himself, or passing legislation that allows the trial court to set dates. I'd also like to see a law passed giving prosecutors a chance to retry the penalty phase if the first one isn't unanimous. But one thing I am not going to do, is stand behind him just because he signed more warrants than his predecessors. I will not settle for mediocrity.

I recall now that when Gov. Charlie Crist decided to run for US Senate as a Republican, his death warrant pen ran out of ink as well.
