DeSantis could’ve had a record year had he just forgotten about Dailey. Scott did the right thing when he tried to execute Paul Howell back in 2013. He was stayed back then and he got 8 others before he got Howell the following year.

There’s a lot of people that Scott didn’t even get while he was Governor. DeSantis could’ve easily signed off on one of them like he did with Bowles. Bowles languished on death row for almost an entire decade after his cert was denied which was ridiculous.

Don't ask questions, just consume product and then get excited for next products.

The root cause of this is there's no discipline in the homes, they don't go to school, you know, they live off the government, no personal accountability, and they just beat people up for no reason, and it's disgusting." - Former Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters

Scott could’ve probably had around 40 executions had it not been for Hurst. There were also a good amount of people who exhausted their appeals when he was in his first year in office. The infamous Glen Rogers being one of them.

Scott to a certain degree during his first term had the benefit of executing people when the death penalty wasn’t under the immense attack it is now. It was very easy at that time to get over 40 executions a year because you had conservative states like Mississippi, Arizona, and even blue states like Delaware in the game.

I doubt after the wave of executions we’ll get from Oklahoma this year and next year we’ll ever see a year with over 30 executions again yes I do see 30 executions this year if the Trump executions go through as followed and Barr has signaled another batch for the fall. He might also be able to get more in for the Winter and if Wardlow’s execution goes through then Texas can start rescheduling executions this year. Georgia too should be able to get back into the game later on this summer.

That state is going through a shift in demographics I hope Ducey can hold the legislature there the minute it flips he’ll have to fight tooth and nail against a repeal bill there. The repeal bills now are not what they were intended to do back when the majority of them were passed in the last decade they literally want to clear out death row. It’s amazing how activism works. CT was not retroactive neither was New Mexico but one activist in each decision led to their sentences being converted. Polis took it upon himself to commute death row in Colorado even their bill was not retroactive.

The Pinellas County trial court has denied Dailey’s motion to vacate his conviction and death sentence.
