A question about Texas execution warrants

I watched a documentary about the death penalty. It said that when a Texas death row inmate gets an execution date, the warrant is faxed to the warden of Polunsky who then brings the inmate to his office and reads the warrant to him.
However Billie Wayne Coble and some other death row inmates were taken back to the county of conviction and had a court hearing to determine the date of execution.
    I’m confused

Me and Aaron had a discussion about this last year. A death row offender who has a date, is sent to death watch. The time could be 91 days to 180 days. Can i ask of the documentary?

If anyone knows this for sure it'd be FFM. I don't care to bore myself over such clerical details. Although I suppose inmates are sometimes not taken to county court for subsequent date. Inmates could also be both taken to court and have it read in the office. Could vary by county also.

The root cause of this is there's no discipline in the homes, they don't go to school, you know, they live off the government, no personal accountability, and they just beat people up for no reason, and it's disgusting." - Former Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters
