    The child was sexually abused.

Yeah I just saw that on Facebook. Williams also apparently has a history of sex offenses towards children. If this isn’t a death penalty case I don’t know what is

Pedophiles should all get life sentences. There are a lot of sickos walking around, but they never act on their twisted desires. Once they physically harm someone, they should never get out because there is no cure for these monsters.

I watched a Louie Theroux documentary a while ago about Coalinga state hospital hospital in California where they house pedophiles who have completed their sentence but are still a danger to others. It is incredibly difficult to prove yourself safe for release once you get sent there. There should be facilities like that in every state

Slain 5-year-old girl sexually assaulted by man with history of crimes against children, Alabama sheriff says

    By Carol Robinson
    AL.com

A 5-year-old Georgia girl found slain in an abandoned east Alabama house was asphyxiated and likely sexually assaulted, authorities said Tuesday.

The body of Kamarie Holland, who was reported missing from Columbus about 6 a.m. Monday, was discovered Monday night in Phenix City, said Russell County Sheriff Heath Taylor.

A 37-year-old man Jeremy Tremain Williams is charged with capital murder in Kamaries death.

Williams is charged with capital murder of a child under the age of 14 and could also face additional charges of capital murder during a kidnapping and capital murder during a rape, authorities said.

Williams, according to the sheriff, was charged with child abuse in Phenix City in 2009 and acquitted by a jury in 2012.

He was charged with abuse of a child in Columbus, Taylor said, but the disposition of that case wasnt immediately known.

Additionally, Taylor said, authorities have information that Williams was the suspect in the death of a 1-year-old in Alaska, but he was never charged with that crime because of a lack of evidence.

The ordeal began Monday morning when Kamaries mother called 911 to report her daughter missing.

The mother said she went to sleep about midnight and awoke to find Kamarie gone and the front door open.

Columbus police launched an immediate investigation and quickly identified Williams as a potential suspect.

Authorities said Williams is an acquaintance of Kamaries mother, but that the two were not dating.

Columbus police notified authorities that Williams could be in the Phenix City area.

Lawmen located Williams and a relative at the Bamboo Motel on Opelika Road in Phenix City, the sheriff said.

The hotel workers told authorities they had been there about 30 minutes prior to the arrival of investigators.

Additionally, Taylor said, investigators learned of a previous Phenix City address for Williams.

They went to the address which was a vacant house.

At that house, they found Kamaries body.

It did appear from the scene that there was some sexual abuse, Taylor said.

Kamaries body has been sent for an autopsy.

Williams, who lives in Columbus, was placed in custody and is being held without bond.

Williams is set to make a court appearance Tuesday afternoon.

Its a sad time to have to speak about a 5-year-old, to work a case on a child who absolutely did nothing wrong, Taylor said. Its sad.

Theres a lot of details Im not willing to disclose at this time because of the urgency in this case and potential of other folks we may be looking into as suspects alongside Williams, Taylor said.

I feel confident that we have the offender in custody and that our work in this case and our autopsy at the state will produce enough evidence to get a conviction on Mr. Williams, the sheriff said.

We are not done with this investigation by any stretch of the imagination.

The Russell County Sheriffs Office and the Columbus Police Department are working the case jointly.

Columbus Assistant Police Chief Joyce Dent-Fitzpatrick said investigators have been working around the clock since Kamaries disappearance.

The No. 1 priority is getting closure for this baby who was taken from us, Dent-Fitzpatrick said.

Russell County Chief Deputy District Attorney Rick Chancey said they will seek the death penalty against Williams if the facts continue to unfold as were seeing them.

Chancey described the case as horrific.

I would ask the communitys thoughts and prayers to remain with the family, Chancey said.

This is just a horrific experience theyre going through and the information they are learning about what Kamarie went through is just awful.

Alabama is officially seeking the death penalty for Williams

EXPLAINER: Charges for suspect in the murder of Kamarie Holland

    By Ben Stanfield

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - In the murder case of 5-year-old Kamarie Holland, the accused killer - Jeremy Tremaine Williams - is facing multiple capital murder charges.

The investigation in the death of young Kamarie Holland is still unfolding in Russell County, Alabama and in Columbus, Georgia - a Tuesday press conference with Russell County Sheriff Heath Taylor did reveal which state law enforcement believes the child’s murder happened in.

“He was placed in custody and has been charged with capital murder in Alabama,” said Sheriff Heath Taylor. “We will handle the case moving forward and prosecution in the death of Kamarie.”

The location determines which state will handle the murder case - each state has different laws and processes in the court system.

The murder of 5-year-old Kamarie qualifies as a capital murder charge in Alabama - first because she was under the age of 14.

More charges could be added and it’s not unusual to see a case where multiple capital murder charges could be added for one death in Alabama.

“One is the victim is under 14. We have charged him with that currently. I suspect we will charge him with capital murder during kidnapping and potentially capital murder during rape.”

Sheriff Heath Taylor added Tuesday that because it is believed that Williams raped the child. That would also constitute a capital murder charge.

A murder in the commission of a kidnapping would also bring a capital murder charge.

The case will first be presented to a grand jury - before later being turned over to a jury trial.

If* the state can show the burden of proof on any of the capital murder charges - per Alabama law - Williams will either face life in prison without parole or the death penalty.

“We will never forget this case...”

The Russell County District Attorneys Office said Tuesday they will pursue death.

The case will be heard by a grand jury early next year. It’s unclear at this time if he will also face charges in Georgia.

PS: Considering you don’t need a unanimous verdict for the death penalty in Alabama, I think it’s pretty clear what the sentence will be in this case

EXCLUSIVE: Father of Kamarie Holland speaks out

    By James Giles

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - In an exclusive interview, the father of little five year old, Kamarie Holland, tells News Leader 9 he has been emotionally drained since the passing of his daughter and thanks the community for the outpouring of love and support.

Corey Holland says since his daughter’s passing earlier this week, the days have been nothing short of hard but he says the one bright spot in the midst of it all was the tremendous outpouring of love and support from the community.

The father says his life is an emotional roller coaster since his daughter was raped and killed earlier this week in Phenix City. Police say 37-year-old Jeremy Williams is responsible.

“You reap what you sow,” said Holland regarding his daughter’s alleged killer.

”I’m glad they brought him over here to Alabama. Because guess what they want. What we want. You read between the lines,” said neighbor, Joveta Lewis.

Williams is being charged with capital murder in Alabama.

Per Alabama law, Williams will either face life in prison without parole or the death penalty.

“Today, I probably only cried like once or twice but Monday on up to here, I’ve been so drained,” said Holland.

And Holland says, that’s because not only has he been grieving the death of one child, but he’s been fighting to gain back custody of his son.

”They tried but we rocky, he’s coming home. We beat that,” said Holland.

According to the father, his three-year-old, who has the same mother as Kamarie -Kristi Hoskins- was taken from him right after his daughter’s death.

He says he allowed the children to visit their mother, who has not supposed to have the kids without supervision.

“We believe that the mother and the offender did have a relationship not from a dating perspective but did know each other,” said Lee County Sheriff Heath Taylor in an earlier press conference.

Holland adds, the kids’ mother, who has a history of drug abuse, only had the kids less than 24 hours before Kamarie was taken by 37-year-old Williams.

Sheriff Heath Taylor also pointed out this week, Williams is a known drug dealer but declined to say if drugs were involved in the little girl’s abduction.

Like many parents, Corey Holland says he always wanted to do what’s best for his children.

That’s why five years ago when he moved from Chicago to Phenix City, all he had on his mind was creating a better life for his daughter who would soon be born.

”Kamarie was not even born yet but I moved down here to take her from that upbringing back home,” said Holland.

”I appreciate all y’all doing. I hope it doesn’t stop here. We’re strong together,” said Holland about the support from the community.

No word on if or when any other arrests will be made in this investigation.

Police remain tight-lipped due to a gag order being issued by a judge earlier this week.

Mother arrested, charged with murder after 5-year-old Kamarie Holland was found dead in Alabama

    By Chuck Williams
    CBS 42 News

PHENIX CITY, Ala. (WRBL) The mother of a slain five-year-old from Columbus has been charged in connection with her daughters death, according to Russell County Jail intake records.

Kristy Siple, also known as Kristy Hoskins, was arrested Tuesday and charged with felony murder in the death of Kamarie Holland.

Jeremy Williams, 33, was arrested two weeks ago and charged with capital murder in Hollands death. Williams faces the death penalty if convicted.
Circuit Court Judge David Johnson issued a gag order in Williams case because of the initial media coverage. Russell County Sheriff Heath Taylors agency is leading the investigation.

The sheriff is limited in what he can say about the case due to the courts gag order that applies to law enforcement, attorneys and potential witnesses in the case.
Siple reported her daughter missing to Columbus Police on the morning of Dec. 13. The little girls body was found later that day in a vacant home on 15th Avenue in Phenix City. Williams had once lived in that house, which is next to West End Cemetery.

In a news conference before the gag order was issued, Taylor said the mother and Williams had a prior relationship, but he did not describe the nature of that relationship. Taylor also said the girl had been sexually assaulted, but Williams was not initially charged with a sex crime.

Sheriff Taylor will hold a press conference at 10 a.m. on Dec. 29 with more updates in the case.
