Martinez has been distributed again for the SCOTUS conference of March 31. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets remanded because of Moore.

The root cause of this is there's no discipline in the homes, they don't go to school, you know, they live off the government, no personal accountability, and they just beat people up for no reason, and it's disgusting." - Former Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters

In today's orders, the United States Supreme Court GRANTED Martinez's motion for leave to proceed in forma pauperis. Judgement is vacated and remanded to the 5th Circuit for further consideration in light of Moore.

This guy won't win in the end, even if the CCA adopts 'modern standards' for our fake retarded DR thugs. There is not a single shred of evidence in the trial or appellate record that remotely suggests he is like Moore. USSC should have just denied this one outright.

Harris County death row prisoner convicted in saloon robbery found dead in cell

A death row prisoner convicted in a botched 1983 saloon robbery was found dead Wednesday in his cell.

During a routine 11 a.m. security check at Livingston's Polunsky Unit, Raymond Martinez was found unresponsive, according to prison officials.

Correction officers attempted life-saving measures and took the 71-year-old to the infirmary, where he was pronounced dead of natural causes.

The 71-year-old had been on death row since July 1984 after he was found guilty in the shooting death of Herman Chavis, owner of the Long Branch Saloon in Houston.

After slaughtering Chavis during a bar robbery, Martinez and one of his accomplices fled to Fort Worth, where Martinez shot and killed his sister and her boyfriend. Days later, Martinez killed a prostitute at a motel because he didn't like her attitude.
