Is this guy filing any Chaplin related appeals? I haven’t seen any indication he is.

I am not finding any other appeals filed. Will Rick Allan Rhoades be somewhat gracious as John William Hummel and be executed without a fuss or will he choose the cerebral choice of hopping on the religious bandwagon? Who knows...

Was just wondering why I dont often hear about inmates petitioning for clemency. I hear about nearly all of them asking for stays in various courts, but I dont hear about them asking for clemency nearly as often. I wonder why that is. With nothing to lose, youd think theyd try every last option.

Valid point but the TCCA hands down stays like hotcakes so most of them get what they want.

Most do. It just doesn't make news because denial is a foregone conclusion/preordained outcome in virtually every single case in Texas.

On September 20, 2021, Rhoades filed an appeal to the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

And executions in that county will plateau, probably not reaching 140.
