Facts of the Crime:
Convicted and sentenced to death for the October 1975 shooting death of Wesley Noble, a 76-year-old retired farmer. Witnesses said Mr. Noble pleaded for his life just before he was killed during the armed robbery of a grocery store in Casscoe. Clark was one of three men from Detroit involved in the robbery, in which a second man was also killed, five people were wounded, and a woman was raped. All were robbed of jewelry and money. Mr. Pickens was 21 at the time. Clark's two companions also were convicted of capital murder. Edward Pickens was sentenced to death and has been executed. Vincent Gooch pleaded guilty and was sentenced to life without parole. Clark is currently housed in Michigan serving a life sentence for another crime.
