    Governor DeSantis Execution Warrant Discussion

Same as before, but DeSantis is now governor, not Scott.

The root cause of this is there's no discipline in the homes, they don't go to school, you know, they live off the government, no personal accountability, and they just beat people up for no reason, and it's disgusting." - Former Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters

DeSantis definitely seems to be prioritizing serial killers so far, but I think it’s too early to tell if that’s as far as he’ll go. Based on a quick read of his case, I agree with the majority on the other thread that Rogers is next. Guess we’ll see how quickly DeSantis moves after Bowles has been taken care of.

Its either going to be Rogers or Dillbeck.

    Probably 100 and 101.

Punishing somehow seems unfair to it, and it is certain that imagining ‘punishment’ and ‘being supposed to punish’ hurts it, arouses fear in it." Friedrich Nietzsche

There are 61 inmates who are not affected by Hurst & Asay. Place your bets!

I'm reposting Moh's list for members to chose from. Please let me know if any inmates shouldn't be on this list.

Now that the US Supreme Court's taking up of Timothy Lee Hurst's case will likely lead to stays of execution for inmates sentenced to death by non-unanimous juries, here's a list of warrant-ready inmates who were condemned unanimously:

    Fred Anderson, Jr.
    Michael Bernard Bell
Daniel Burns, Jr. (original jury 10-2; resentencing 12-0)
    Loran K. Cole
    James Milton Dailey
Floyd William Damren (awaiting disposition of cert petition)
Paul Glenn Everett (awaiting disposition of cert petition)
    Alfred Lewis Fennie
    Norman Mearle Grim
    Patrick Charles Hannon - Executed - 11/29/2017
Jeffrey Glenn Hutchinson (jury recommendation waived)
    Jose Antonio Jimenez - Executed - 12/13/2018
    Victor Tony Jones
Ronald Alan Knight (jury recommendation waived)
    Gregory Alan Kokal
    Ian Deco Lightbourne
    Ken Eldon Lott
Richard E. Lynch (awaiting disposition of cert petition)
    Scott Mansfield
    John Christopher Marquard
    Matthew Marshall
    Lenard James Philmore
Robert Anthony Preston (original jury 7-5; resentencing 12-0)
Kenneth Darcell Quince (jury recommendation waived)
    Michael Lee Robinson
    Manuel Antonio Rodriguez
    Glen Edward Rogers
    Samuel L. Smithers
    Kenneth Allen Stewart
    Anthony Floyd Wainwright
Frank Athen Walls (original jury 7-5; resentencing 12-0)

Here again, as previously posted, is the list of warrant-ready inmates who fall into the categories that GovernorScott most often signs warrants for:

    Child killers
    Michael Bernard Bell
    Seburt Connor
    Jerry Correll Executed - 10/29/2015
    James Milton Dailey
    James Duckett
    James Hitchcock
    Jeffrey Glenn Hutchinson
    Bryan Jennings
    Richard E. Lynch
    Alex Pagan
    Jason Stephens
    William Sweet
    Edward Zakrzewski

    Cop killers
    Daniel Burns, Jr.
Donald Dillbeck (murdered woman while on lam from life sentence for 1979 cop killing)
    Michael Allen Griffin
    Norberto Pietri

    Serial killers
    Glen Edward Rogers
    Frank Athen Walls

So, if you cross-reference the two lists, then perhaps the next inmates to get warrants can be narrowed down to:

    Michael Bernard Bell
    Daniel Burns, Jr.
    James Milton Dailey
    Jeffrey Glenn Hutchinson
    Richard E. Lynch
    Glen Edward Rogers
    Frank Athen Walls

Okay I'm going to go with Glen Rogers and James Duckett.

Duckett was a cop who raped and murdered a child and has been on DR since 1988.

Glen Rogers and James Dailey. Helen, go to the Florida inmates not impacted by Hurst and Asay. I have updated the following.

That list is surely incomplete. Just use the following criteria: death was unanimously recommended, OR death was not unanimously recommended, but sentence became final before the cutoff date for Hurst retroactivity.
