According to CBS News affiliate WAFB, the grand jury handed down the charges for Boosie, whose real name is Torrance Hatch, for his alleged role in the murder of Terry Boyd.

According to police, Boosie and two men, Michael Louding and Adrian Pittman, who were also charged with first degree murder, fired shots into Boyd's home and allegedly was in possession of ecstasy, codeine and marijuana.

All three men were charged with conspiracy for their part in the act, police say.

A district attorney said the death penalty was not out of the question.

Below are the charges that Lil Boosie faces according to court records:

TORRENCE HATCH, A/K/A "LIL BOOSIE" 27, 1132 POMPEY

Status: already incarcerated at Dixon Correctional Institute

Boosie, who is currently incarcerated after a judge order him to serve time for probation violation, has also been indicted for conspiring with a girlfriend, another inmate and a former correctional officer of smuggling in synthetic marijuana, marijuana pills and codeine into the prison.

In addition to Lil' Boosie, Pittman, and Louding, District Attorneys also state that Jared Williams, Kendrick Johnson, Johnathan Rogers and Ryan “Sneaks” Carroll have all been charged with first degree murders.

Carroll and Rogers are both minors, but will be charged as adults.

Lil' Boosie pleads not guilty to murder

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Baton Rouge rapper Lil' Boosie appeared in court Monday morning for his initial hearing related to a first-degree murder indictment.

Lil' Boosie, whose real name is Torrence Hatch, stood before Judge Mike Erwin and pleaded not guilty to the murder.

The hearing only lasted about two minutes.

"He's not guilty," said Defense Attorney Marcus Allen. "I think he's absolutely not guilty. I think he meant what he said. He's absolutely not guilty. We're just going to prepare for his defense and get ready to address the charges."

"I'd rather wait for the evidence to speak as to what happened," said District Attorney Hillar Moore. "He's got several different cases, so it depends on which one you're talking about. He also has the introduction of the drugs into the prison and obviously, he's presumed innocent at this point."

The 27-year-old pleaded not guilty to conspiracy and drug charges as well.

His girlfriend and two others also pleaded not guilty related to drug charges.

Hatch was indicted on June 17 in connection with the shooting death of Terry Boyd.

Security was extremely high at the district courthouse for the arraignment hearings.

Moore said this is a "regular case," but admitted it has a received high-profile attention.

Trill Entertainment and Lil' Boosie Lawyer Under Investigation For Witness Tampering

Trill Entertainment CEOs Melvin Vernell Jr. and Marcus Roach will once again be tried in court for charges stemming from an assault against up and coming rapper Bruce “Beelow” Moore for allegedly bootlegging the labels music.

According to published reports, the retrial is a result of the lawyer who represented the Baton Rogue Hip-Hop label facing criminal charges for allegedly interfering with a criminal probe by attempting to have attempted murder charges against Vernell and Roach dismissed.

Attorney Peter Q. John is currently standing trial to clarify to the courts why the witnesses and plaintiff in the case received a settlement after the criminal case was dropped and no civil case was filed.

Authorities suspect that the lack of cooperation from witnesses and Beelow were partly due to intimidation by Vernell and Roach, who allegedly harassed witnesses involved with the case and the promises of John who negotiated a settlement for the men injured in the shooting after the case was dropped at Beelow's request.

Prosecutors also accuse the self-proclaimed “Thugs Lawyer” of conspiracy, obstruction of justice, perjury and theft, alleging that he had access to advanced information in the grand jury proceedings.

John is also accused of presenting false information designed to clear Vernell and Roach of the attempted murder charges.

According to John, prosecutors failed to present enough evidence to the grand jury, facts which would have shown that he legally negotiated a settlement with the two victims and has done nothing outside of the legal parameters he is given as a lawyer.

Although the initial charges against Vernell and Roach were dropped because prosecutors took too long to try the case, the pair will stand trial for a second time, facing charges of aggravated battery, aggravated assault with a firearm and possession of an illegal firearm by a convicted felon .

In addition to representing Vernell and Roach and himself, John is reportedly on retainer for the label and is the lead lawyer in Lil' Boosie's first degree murder trial.

Boosie, who has pleaded not guilty for his alleged role in the December 2009 shooting death of Christopher “Nussie” Jackson, is currently incarcerated pending his trial and under investigation for a possible five murders.

Vernell and Roach are currently free on $350,000 bond.

SMH at Vernell and Roach for hiring John in the first place. Who would want a lawyer who looks like “Pinky” from the movie Friday to represent them in court anyway?

Louisiana Rapper Lil Boosie was scheduled to appear in court earlier today (January 12) on murder charges, but the hearing has been postponed according to Baton Rouge media outlets.

Torrence “Lil Boosie” Hatch was expected in court this morning to face the murder rap of Terry Boyd, 35, who was shot through a window on Oct. 21, 2009 while inside his home.

Hatch pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder in connection with Boyd's death in June 2010.

Hatch and three others, including Michael Louding, known as Marlo Mike, were scheduled to appear in court, but their cases were moved to a later date.

They also face multiple drug and conspiracy charges in the same case.

Additionally, Louding, 17, has been charged with killing local rapper Chris "Nussie" Jackson, who was embroiled in a dispute with Lil Boosie.

    Related case

"Marlo Mike" expected in court for hearing

The suspected killer known as "Marlo Mike," who was only 16 when he allegedly commited his first murder, is expected to appear in a Baton Rouge courtroom Wednesday morning.

Michael Louding is accused in six separate homicide cases, including the shooting death of Terry Boyd, 35.

Boyd was shot through a window on Oct. 21, 2009 while he was inside his home on Vermillion Drive.

Louding was indicted in June 2010.

Baton Rouge rapper Lil' Boosie is also facing first-degree murder charges in the case.

Lil' Boosie, whose real name is Torrence Hatch, pleaded not guilty to the accusations last June.

Both men could face the death penalty if found guilty.

It is unknown if Hatch is scheduled to appear for this hearing.

Hatch, Louding and three others were scheduled to appear in court last Wednesday, but the hearing was postponed.

They also face multiple drug and conspiracy charges in the same case.

Authorities said in addition to Boyd, Louding shot and killed Baton Rouge rapper Chris "Nussie" Jackson, Marcus Thomas and Michael Smith, all in 2009.

He is also blamed for the shooting deaths of Charles Matthews and Darryl Milton in 2010.

The pair was shot while sitting in a parked Cadillac.

Louding is charged with the attempted murder of another man.

"I mean, he was 16 with the first one last year, pretty young," Margaret Lagattuta, Louding's court-appointed attorney, said in June 2010.

She described Louding as the youngest person she's ever represented who is accused of so many crimes.

"Just keeping it in your head, it's not like one case. It's six cases, so it's a little more complicated," Lagattuta added.

Louding's sister once stated she doesn't think her brother is a bad person; he just hangs around bad people.

    Lil Boosie Jail Photos Emerge

Lil Boosie wants his fans to know that although he's currently locked down his name still holds strong in the Hip-Hop game. Over the weekend a photo of the MC emerged, showing the Louisiana rapper for the first time since his incarceration draped in jewelry in a cell he's currently housed in.

In the candid photo, the 'Wipe Me Down" rapper appears in good spirits despite the numerous felony charges he's currently facing. A shirtless Boosie is depicted with many gold chains, including one with an anchor and a gold studded bracelet. Boosie's ice game has seen better times for the flashy rapper who displayed millions of dollars on the average day but is now facing financial battles separate from his legal issues.

The photo arrives following reports of Boosie's home being foreclosed and inevitably auctioned off after non-payment on the property. Since his incarceration the note on Boosie's home ballooned to a whopping $375,270.74. Boosie's Baton Rouge estate is now set to be auctioned off on June 29th.

The rapper born Torrence Hatch is accused of paying men to kill 35-year-old Terry Boyd through the window of his home and of conspiring with his girlfriend, Walnita Decuir, and a former prison guard to introduce contraband — in this case, illegal drugs such as codeine pills and synthetic marijuana — into the prison where the rapper is being held. In addition to the murder charges, Boosie also faces a third charge involving drugs and conspiracy. Boosie pleaded not guilty to all the charges.

The Advocate reported that East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney Hillar Moore III said that investigators are looking into whether Boosie and others have ties to at least five other killings in the area since last year that have followed a murder-for-hire template similar to that of the Boyd slaying. Hillar said that his office hasn't decided yet whether to pursue the death penalty against Boosie on the murder charge, but said it was "obviously" an option.
