Georgia has the best system with that. South Carolina has a good system too.

Also Tennessee has no policy on how long away an execution is. They could set the execution for one month away and not a whole year

Tennessee death row inmate Stephen Hugueley was found dead early Friday morning, three days after the state filed a motion to set his execution date.

The state moved to set his execution date the same day.
It's been 2 weeks and we heard and seen nothing of this supposed motion and we haven't seen any movement on anyone else. This statement seems like it was invented by the writer.

Oh it was an admin thing, that's why we haven't heard anything.

Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 12.4(A) requires the State to request that this Court set an execution date when a death-row prisoner has pursued at least one unsuccessful challenge through the standard three-tier appeals process.

Christa Pike will still likely be executed. Pike filed her opposition to an execution date on June 7. An execution date for her could be set anytime now
