Okla. attorney general seeks execution dates

OKLAHOMA CITY — Attorney General Scott Pruitt is seeking execution dates for two Oklahoma death row inmates who have exhausted their state and federal appeals.
Pruitt's office on Monday asked the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals to set execution dates for 46-year-old Charles Warner and 38-year-old Clayton Lockett.
Warner received the death penalty for the 1997 killing in Oklahoma City of 11-month-old Adriana Waller, the daughter of Warner's girlfriend.
Lockett is scheduled to die for the 1999 slaying of Stephanie Nieman, who was shot to death and buried in a shallow grave near Tonkawa.
Once an execution date is set, both men will have an opportunity to present a case for clemency to the Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board. The board can vote to recommend clemency to the governor.

March 27 execution set for Okla. death row inmate

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - An Oklahoma appeals court has scheduled a March 27 execution date for a 46-year-old man who was sentenced to death for the rape and murder of an 11-month-old girl.

The Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals set the execution date Thursday for Charles Frederick Warner. An Oklahoma County jury convicted Warner of rape and first-degree murder in the 1997 death of Adriana Waller, the daughter of Warner's girlfriend.

Warner's original conviction in 1999 was overturned by the appeals court after it found the trial judge erred by seating a juror who said he had "a strong bias towards the death penalty."

Warner was again convicted and sentenced to death in 2003.

Oklahoma death row inmate to request clemency

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — An Oklahoma death row inmate convicted of the rape and murder of an 11-year-old girl plans to ask the Pardon and Parole Board to commute his death sentence to life in prison.

The board is to meet Tuesday to consider the clemency plea of 46-year-old Charles Frederick Warner. An Oklahoma County jury convicted Warner of rape and first-degree murder in the 1997 death of Adriana Waller, the daughter of Warner's girlfriend. He is scheduled for execution March 27.

Warner's original 1999 conviction was overturned. He was convicted a second time in 2003.

Warner and fellow death row inmate Clayton Lockett have sued the Oklahoma Department of Corrections to block their executions until more is revealed about the origin of the lethal injection drugs. Lockett's execution is set for March 20.

Oklahoma death row inmate's clemency request denied

By a vote of 4 to 1, the Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board denied convicted murderer Charles Frederick Warner's request his execution be commuted to a life sentence at a Tuesday hearing.

Warner, 46, is scheduled for lethal injection March 27 for raping and killing 11-month-old Adriana Waller in 1997. The infant was the child of his girlfriend. Warner was given the death penalty for the killing and 75 years for the rape.

Hearing on Oklahoma executions moved to U.S. court

A lawsuit challenging Oklahoma's law that shields details of drugs used in executions has been moved to federal court.

The suit filed by death row inmates Clayton Lockett and Charles Warner was set for a hearing Tuesday in Oklahoma County District Court, but the hearing was canceled after the case was transferred to federal court at the request of the state.

Lockett faces a March 20 execution while Warner is set to be executed March 27.

Both sought stays of execution as they challenge a provision in state law that allows Oklahoma to keep secret details about the drugs that will be used to execute them, including the supplier of the lethal drugs.

The case is now in federal court in Oklahoma City and no new hearing has been set.

Did he and his lawyers actually think he had a shot at Clemency? No one in their right mind would even consider it even the most hardened criminals. As for the drugs that will ultimately kill him I don't get it obviously he and other are delusional that the drugs will harm him. Really? he will be unconcious and dead in minutes not with the pain the poor infant suffered.

It was a vote of 4 to 1 which astounds me due to the fact that someone actually voted to grant him clemency. Thank god Thor the 4 that denied it
