Christopher Evans
Facts of the Crime:
In a case that moved at a snail's pace, Alameda County jurors convicted Christopher Evans on July 16, 2009 of one count of first-degree murder for the death of hairdresser Tina Marie Rose, 28, and one count of second-degree murder for the death of Tommy Lee Brown, 41, in a shooting at Rose's salon near the corner of 85th Avenue and International Boulevard in Oakland on April 27, 2001. Jurors also found Evans guilty of the special circumstance of committing multiple murders. At the conclusion of the penalty phase of Evans' trial on November 23, 2009, after two days of deliberations, the same jurors recommended the death penalty for Evans. The sentence was confirmed by the judge in the case on April 23, 2010.
