Chuck Grassley now has the kung flu. That is not good for confirmations. Especially not when McSally will be replaced by the end of this month.

Actually, 87 is not the best age to attract the virus.

That explains why he wasn't voting today. This still allows for a working majority of 51 senators after November 30. And worse case scenario, Iowa's governor is a Republican so if he succumbs to it his appointed successor will be a Republican.

McSally says this will be her last week here before Mark Kelly is sworn in on the 30th, so McConnell will have to plow through the ultra conservative nominees this week.

They are doing three more judges this week and that will be it for the month. I believe they only have 5 with blue slips after this week.

"There is a point in the history of a society when it becomes so pathologically soft and tender that among other things it sides even with those who harm it, criminals, and does this quite seriously and honestly. Punishing somehow seems unfair to it, and it is certain that imagining ‘punishment’ and ‘being supposed to punish’ hurts it, arouses fear in it." Friedrich Nietzsche

I can't believe AZ actually voted for that cretin. He has nothing to offer except being an ambulance-chasing gun grabber riding the coattails of his wife's shooting. This is like FL electing that clown Gutenberg, or one of the other attention seeking Parkland parents.

Blame the elderly snow birds who for whatever reason think John McCain was some kind of golden cow and anyone who dares question his divinity is a heretic. I honestly don’t get it the guy fought in Vietnam big freaking deal so did my grandpa and he had nothing but contempt for him.

Chuck Grassley will be fine these people have better healthcare than g-d and most of the nail biter votes are done and by the time the circuit picks come up for a vote the full caucus will be in place.

The Senate confirmed Thomas Kirsch to the 7th Circuit in a 51-44 vote. This fills Barrett's old seat.

What was the point of Graham holding the First Circuit nominee hearing today if he’s not going to mark it up?

Could be bluffing to try and get something from dems or it could be an attempt to try and get Biden to renominate him as part of a deal. Either way Mitch needs to get control of this and now and let the chairman know he will be confirmed
