In today's United States Supreme Court orders, Fields' petition for writ of certiorari was DENIED.

Lower Ct: United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit
    Case Nos.: (13-70025)
    Decision Date: September 2, 2014
    Rehearing Denied: September 30, 2014

Theoretically, Fields' appeals are now exhausted. Unfortunately, litigation over the federal government's lethal-injection protocol has continued to be bogged down in the District of Columbia District Court since 2006.

Fields offered to give a low-paid, for-profit prison guard, $5,000 for the key to let him escape by the fire escape. He didn't have much money, of course. The doofus gave him the key and he went to the hospital where his ex-girl friend was caring for another man's baby, kidnapped and killed her. The guard was prosecuted as well. It qualified for the D.P. because Fields had escaped from the crackerbox prison in McClennan County, TX, where he was being held on federal weapons charges.

The feds have probably wasted ten million bucks on this dirtbag's trial, appeals and incarceration for the last 14 years. Hey, it's only tax money. It's not like anyone has to pay that.

The Fifth Circuit has granted in part and denied in part Fields’ motion to file a successive habeas petition.
