China's highest court, the Supreme People's Court (SPC), announced Sunday that four criminals convicted in four drug-related cases had been executed after it approved the death sentences.
Chen Weidong and Ma Chongyang were convicted of drug trafficking and selling, while the other two, Huang Xianmin and Guan Hui, were convicted of selling drugs, the SPC said in a statement.
In China, a death penalty is usually imposed by local courts and subject to review and approval by the SPC.
The statement also said the SPC had taken a number of measures to crack down on drug-related crimes in a comprehensive manner.
The SPC earlier ordered the higher courts of 16 regions that see the most drug-related crimes in the country to conduct publicity campaigns to promote drug control.
