An arrest has been made in a Feb. 26 triple homicide at a Northland motel.
Isaac Perdomo-Paz, 18, of Kansas City was charged Wednesday, March 9, with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the deaths of Dejan Joksimovic, 18, Armin Hamidovic, 18, and Delfino Elizondo, 22.
The charges were revealed by Clay County Prosecutor Dan White during a press conference at the county sheriff’s detention center in Liberty where Perdomo-Paz is being held without bail. Perdomo-Paz could face the death penalty.
Perdomo-Paz is alleged to have shot the three young men during an early morning party at the Red Roof Inn just south of Worlds of Fun. Investigators allege Perdomo-Paz murdered the men over a perceived slight involving his ex-girlfriend, according to a probable cause statement.
Though Perdomo-Paz is allegedly a member of a Hispanic gang and goes by the street name “Spider,” Clay County Sheriff Bob Boydston emphasized that the murders were an “isolated incident” unrelated to gang activity.
White cautioned that the case is ongoing and more people are being sought for questioning. He asked that anyone with information about the murders contact the prosecutor’s office at 407-3700.
