John, her campaign is invisible anyway, much like Biden's. I'm watching CNN all the time, and even there there is no trace of Kamala.

In fact, she'll have a lot more visibility with these hearings comings up.

Why? Plenty of conservative people adopt.

It will be a real test if they can repeat William McKinley’s front porch style campaign in today’s day and age.

I was just reading OldWine’s Twitter I can’t believe he likes Amy Barrett he shares nothing in common with her beliefs aside from abortion. It could just be political pandering since a lot of Republicans didn’t like his draconian coronavirus restrictions.

The media are now constantly discussing the future of Roe v. Wade. Do you guys think it will be overturned? Would Gorsuch and Kavanaugh be willing to do so?

Personally, I think it should be overturned. Not because I'm against abortion - I'm not. Simply because I think the Constitution does not remotely deal with this subject and thus it should be left for democracy to decide.

Especially Rehnquist's dissent is highly instructive.

The case of Roe v. Wade will be huge in 2021 when Barrett is firmly in the driving seat.

Considering Trump Vs Biden is now underway until November 3rd, that will be the deciding factor on where the country moves forward for the next four years.

Every time the R's finally believe they have a majority either a swing comes or a judge will come out as left wing.

Democrats don't have this problem, they place staunch left wing judges on the bench yet Republicans can't place a couple of good one right wing ones on.

Anyone he picks will be a slightly better improvement than Ginsburg, but things generally won't improve. Roberts is the swing now and Gorsuch is willing to declare a majority of a state an Indian Reserve. From 1991-1993 there was a single Democrat appointed judge on the bench and what did they do? They upheld Roe vs Wade. From 1994 to 2005 the court was 7-2 same deal, same result more left wing "progression". This circus over a person that both sides know will be weak and will subvert a "conservative" agenda in the future amuses me.
Roe v Wade won't be overturned nothing will change. Trump could fill refill every seat and still nothing would. They are just drumming up outrage to piss you off and get you angry.

And no Alfred Roe v Wade won't be decided by democracy. Like every other issue in this nation it's only legal because an unelected kleptocrat says so. It was a states right issue, voters voted to make it illegal yet some ghouls in robes in DC told them they have to do it because of their interpretation of a 250 year old piece of paper.

"There is a point in the history of a society when it becomes so pathologically soft and tender that among other things it sides even with those who harm it, criminals, and does this quite seriously and honestly. Punishing somehow seems unfair to it, and it is certain that imagining ‘punishment’ and ‘being supposed to punish’ hurts it, arouses fear in it." Friedrich Nietzsche

The Supreme Court wasn’t 8-1 Republican-appointed when they decided Planned Parenthood v. Casey in 1992, because Rehnquist, Blackmun, Stevens, Kennedy, Souter and Thomas were confirmed by Democratic Senates. White was picked by a Democratic President and Senate, and he dissented.

Nevertheless, I agree with your signature Mike (when I read your previous post), that "Judicial Review isn’t in the Constitution" and is indeed an oligarchic mess. That’s why many countries like the United Kingdom, New Zealand and Switzerland have chosen to have none. That’s why Australia has chosen to have no Bill of Rights. I endorse originalism only as the least worst of realistic possibilities (for now) in the
    United States.

Trump's nomination Amy Coney Barrett has been officially sent to the Senate. Barrett has met with Senator Mitch McConnell ahead of the confirmation next month.
