Death penalty sought in Madera
The Madera County District Attorney's Office said today the death penalty will be sought for a man charged with stabbing and dismembering his two roommates last year while they slept.
Jeronimo Ramirez Martinez, 34, is accused of killing Delfino Martinez Hernandez, 41, and Fidel Hernandez, 20.
Police said Martinez killed his roommates, went to work and then reported their deaths to his landlord when he returned to their Madera home on May 28, 2010.
The three men shared a garage converted into living quarters on the 900 block of Sierra Street.
Martinez has pleaded not guilty. His trial date is scheduled to be set on Jan. 3.
