Titusville killer faces sentencing June 15

A man who a jury recommended face the death penalty for a Titusville double-homicide appeared in court this morning but hasn’t been formally sentenced.

Terence Oliver, 36, was found guilty of two counts of first-degree murder following a jury trial in March. Oliver shot and killed Andrea Richardson, 36, and Krystal Pinson, 25, at Richardson’s Titusville home on July 21, 2009.

Prosecutors said during trial that Oliver shot Pinson, a former girlfriend, because he suspected she was informing police of his whereabouts and then killed Richardson because he saw the first shooting.

Oliver remains in custody pending sentencing tentatively set for June 15.

Convicted killer gets two death sentences in 2009 Titusville double murder

Terence Tabius Oliver was given two death sentences in a Viera courtoom today for a double murder from 2009.

Oliver, 36, was found guilty of two counts of first-degree murder following a jury trial in March. Oliver shot and killed Andrea Richardson, 36, and Krystal Pinson, 25, at Richardson's Titusville home on July 21, 2009.

Prosecutors said during trial that Oliver shot Pinson, a former girlfriend, because he suspected she was informing police of his whereabouts and then killed Richardson because he saw the first shooting.

Judge Robert Wohn also sentenced Oliver to life in prison for armed burglary and five years for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Oliver said he was sorry for the losses of the victims, but proclaimed his innocence.

"You call me a murderer and an animal, which I'm not," Oliver said.

Oliver's mother ran crying from the courtroom after he was sentenced.

"Justice was served today, and it will be served again when he is put to death," said Sandra Pinson, Krystal's mother.

In today's orders, the United States Supreme Court declined to review Oliver's petition for certiorari. Justices Ginsburg, Breyer and Sotomayor dissented.

The FDOC doesn’t have Oliver being under death sentences anymore. It also appears he’s been in the Brevard County Jail since January.
