Howard Paul Guidry - Texas Death Row

    Farah Baquer Fratta

    Summary of Offense:

Howard Guidry was convicted as the triggerman in the November 1994 murder-for-hire of 34-year-old Farah Fratta, wife of former police officer Robert Fratta who was convicted of masterminding her murder and who was himself sentenced to death. Prosecutors said Joseph Prystash, with the promise of a Jeep as renumeration for his part in the plot, arranged the details of the murder and passed the murder weapon to triggerman Guidry. Guidry was paid $3,000 for murdering Mrs. Fratta. Mrs. Fratta was shot twice in the head as she stepped from her car inside her garage. The shooting occurred during the course of a custody battle between the victim and her husband.

Guidry was re-sentenced to death in Harris County in March 2007.

Fratta and Prystash were also sentenced to death.

The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals on Wednesday affirmed the conviction and death sentence for Howard Paul Guidry. Guidry was convicted in 1997 for the shooting death of 33-year-old Farah Fratta in Harris County.

Fratta's husband, former Houston public safety officer Robert Fratta, masterminded the plot to have his wife killed.

    EX PARTE HOWARD PAUL GUIDRY

In today's TCCA orders, the court dismissed Guidry's subsequent application for writ of habeas corpus.

No reason to wait for the trifecta to exhaust their appeals to get death warrants for the other 2.

If Ogg is ousted by that socialist in November forget seeing executions in Harris County. Gregg Abbott should push for a law change in Texas and make it so the State Supreme Court sets them or give the power to the Governor to set them. Gregg Abbott will sign off on an astronomical amount of warrants. Abbott is not likely to lose re-election in Texas he knows how to appeal to the demographic shifts of that state.

Ogg won the dem primary in March. She’ll either remain DA or be beaten by her republican challenger, Mary Nan Huffman

So either two things will: Ogg wins and continues putting killers on death row and rarely setting dates.
    Or
Mary Huffman wins and seeks the death penalty more than Ogg and sends more people to the gurney

I hope she’s ousted. Trump has to have an upswing in support to sweep all these criminal activists DAs out of office come November. His performance in Texas was not like Abbott’s was in 2018. Abbott was just shy of Trumps vote total in 2018 and he himself carried Harris County. Abbott literally shielded every other Republican from going down in flames.
