But we don't have the 'right' to bare arms!
It's also lower in Switzerland, which has a legal requirement to bear arms. And in Iceland, where guns are very popular for recreation.

Besides, you're now trying to conflate rapist-murderers (the sort you apparently bemoan Americans giving nicknames derived from Jack the Ripper to) and serial killers with murderers who use guns. None of those serial killers I or Trudie mentioned used firearms to commit their murders. Gun murderers are typically robbery murders (Claude Jones/William Rousan), crimes of passion (Henry John Burnett/Ruth Ellis), mentally disturbed (Roaul Moat/Michael Robert Ryan) wannabe gangsters (Troy Davis/Dale Cregan) or occasionally terrorists and anti-authority motivated murders (John Allen Mohammed/Leo Jones). They're a completely different population to serial killers.

From your link: Japan, Singapore, Indonesia, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and China all carry out executions and while South Korea has a moratorium in place they still issue death sentences, all have lower murder rates than the UK does. On the other hand the highest murder rates are in deeply catholic and long term abolitionist countries like Honduras, El Salvador, Colombia, Brazil and Venezuela.

I think you can't compare the murder rates with the death penalty. There are other problems in the US which causes the high rates and those are gangs. There are people who only solve problems with violence and they dont care if they have guns or a baseball bat.

    Jamaica 39.3
    Guatemala 39.9
    El Salvador 41.2
    Belize 44.7
    Venezuela 53.7
    Honduras 90.4

These countries dont have legal guns or the death penalty.

And the death penalty is still punishment. I dont care how many murders there are, its a case to case issue to seek or not to seek the death penalty.

Not even if it's a really hot day in August?

Fraid not! Even the Olympic shooters have to go to France to practise. I mean France, there are limits!

I've read I think two books on "Saucy Jack" that proposed to give the definitive answer. Will it ever be found out? "From Hell, Mishter Lusk!"

I just had a really bad thought: The way things are going in the US now, maybe serial killers will actually be in vogue some day, ala Oliver Stone's Natural Born Killers. I mean look at pornography, it's now "porn" - friendly little word. One person tries to outdo the other to push the envelope, become famous, kill the most people, jihad, mass killing almost weekly now.....
