It's also lower in Switzerland, which has a legal requirement to bear arms. And in Iceland, where guns are very popular for recreation.
Besides, you're now trying to conflate rapist-murderers (the sort you apparently bemoan Americans giving nicknames derived from Jack the Ripper to) and serial killers with murderers who use guns. None of those serial killers I or Trudie mentioned used firearms to commit their murders. Gun murderers are typically robbery murders (Claude Jones/William Rousan), crimes of passion (Henry John Burnett/Ruth Ellis), mentally disturbed (Roaul Moat/Michael Robert Ryan) wannabe gangsters (Troy Davis/Dale Cregan) or occasionally terrorists and anti-authority motivated murders (John Allen Mohammed/Leo Jones). They're a completely different population to serial killers.
From your link: Japan, Singapore, Indonesia, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and China all carry out executions and while South Korea has a moratorium in place they still issue death sentences, all have lower murder rates than the UK does. On the other hand the highest murder rates are in deeply catholic and long term abolitionist countries like Honduras, El Salvador, Colombia, Brazil and Venezuela.
