    Florida executions

    Florida executed 317 people between 1827 and 1964. Between 1979 and 2013, the state has executed 77 individuals. Below, the number of executions ordered by Florida governors since 1979.

    Governors Executions
    Bob Graham (1979-1987) 17
    Bob Martinez (1987-1991) 8
    Lawton Chiles (1991-98) 18
    Jeb Bush (1999-2007) 21
    Charlie Crist (2007-11) 5
    Rick Scott (2011-current) 8

    The only aspect that I'm sorry about is that it seems liberals like Lawton Chiles seem to sign more death warrants than the so called conservatives that get elected in Florida.

    What are you talking about jacdup? Every R after Martinez(Crist was a Rino) has had more executed than Chiles. Jeb probably would've gotten more if they didn't have to switch to injection.

    Scott waited until September of his first year before he started out his spree and he got more then anybody else did.

    Liberals sometimes have to overcompensate to avoid being called "soft on crime" in purple states. Governor Chiles wouldn't even endorse a switch to LI.
