Facts of Crime: On December 15, 1988, Hunter and accomplice Tomas Grant Ervin forced their way into a home at gunpoint, thinking the owner kept large amounts of cash. They bound Richard Hodges, 49, and his mother Mildred Hodges, 75, with duct tape, robbed them, then suffocated both with plastic bags over their heads upon leaving. Hunter testified at trial against Ervin. Both had previously been convicted of murder and met while in prison.
