    Deals with the Devil

Why is it that prosecutors continue to make deals with murderers who have no defense?? So many cases are plead out to escape the DP when the evidence including DNA is over whelming....

Even if their is a lot of evidence in a case, their is always a slight chance the jury could come back with a non guilty verdict. It's better to have justice served 100% for the victims family rather then taking a gamble on it.

Frankly, it is usually no more than laziness. Successfully prosecuting a murder case requires a backbreaking amount of work.

Sometimes they make a deal to find out the location of the body so the families can have closure. Other times its because they want to close unsolved murders...remember "The Green River Killer".

Only 2% of Murders are prosecuted in The United States annually. I suspect even if much of the drug prosecutions went away tomorrow. DA's would be hard pressed to get the number much above 10%
